2025 Rates are as follows
In addition to caring for your pets or livestock, I also provide general home care to ensure everything runs smoothly while you're away. This includes:
Collecting mail and packages
Rotating indoor and outdoor lights for security
Cleaning up pet messes (e.g., litter boxes, puppy pads, accidents)
Watering indoor plants and maintaining gardens as requested
These extra touches help keep your home looking lived-in, secure, and well-maintained during your absence.
A Sniff Interview is a mandatory step before accepting any new clients. This ensures that both your pet and I are comfortable with one another—because if there's any hesitation or discomfort on either side, we won't move forward.
During this visit, we’ll go over your pet’s daily routine, any medications they require, and any special care instructions. If you’re an existing client and have welcomed a new furry friend into your home, we’ll schedule a time to meet and discuss their individual needs as well.
Care Agreement Reminder
If you're a new client or interested in booking my services, please complete the Care Agreement prior to our "sniff interview." This document serves as a detailed outline of your pet(s)' care routine and preferences.
Need extra space? Feel free to print additional pages as needed. A copy of the Care Agreement will be kept at your home for reference and used only in the event of an emergency.
Home & Garden
Why the Price Difference?
The pricing difference between stop-ins/let-outs and overnight stays is based on the time commitment, level of care, and resources required for each service.
Stop-ins/Let-outs are brief visits (typically 15–30 minutes) for potty breaks, meals, medications, or quick companionship. While they may seem simple, they involve multiple trips throughout the day, scheduling flexibility, and contribute to wear and tear on my personal vehicle—including fuel costs, mileage, and maintenance—especially when visiting multiple clients in different locations.
Overnight stays involve a much longer time commitment, usually 8–12 hours in your home, providing your pet with continuous companionship, routine care, and a calming presence throughout the night. These bookings are more exclusive, as they limit my availability to take on other clients during that time.
Each service is priced fairly based on its unique demands—whether it’s the consistent travel and logistics of daily visits or the dedicated presence and care of overnight stays.
Barns & Beyond
Why the Price Difference? (Barn & Livestock)
When it comes to caring for livestock or managing barn duties, the difference between stop-ins and overnight stays goes beyond just time—it includes physical labor, wear and tear on equipment and vehicles, and increased responsibility for the health and safety of large animals and property.
Stop-ins (Let-Outs/Quick Checks)
Stop-ins are typically brief visits designed to handle essential tasks such as:
Feeding and watering
Turning animals in or out
Quick wellness checks
Collecting eggs or checking on bedding
Administering basic medications (if previously discussed)
These visits usually range from 20–30 minutes and are ideal for routines that don’t require prolonged supervision or physical labor beyond general care. However, each visit still involves:
Travel time and mileage (adding wear and tear to my personal vehicle)
Time-sensitive scheduling to align with your livestock’s feeding or turnout routines
Handling potential unexpected situations, such as gate issues or minor animal injuries
Overnight Barn Stays
Overnight stays offer a more involved level of care and peace of mind for owners, especially when managing multiple animals, larger livestock, or more complex routines. This service includes:
Evening and morning feedings
Extended health and behavior monitoring
Ensuring all animals are properly secured for the night
Temperature monitoring in barns during extreme weather
Mucking stalls and bedding maintenance
Tackling emergency situations if they arise overnight (e.g., birthing, illness, escape attempts)
Because I remain on the property, I'm able to respond in real-time to any issues—a huge benefit for owners of high-value or at-risk animals.
Additional Labor Services included with Stop ins & Overnight
In both stop-in and overnight services, extra tasks may be desired while you are away including:
Minor fence repair (mending wire, hammering loose boards, securing gates)
Scrubbing/disinfecting feed or water containers
Cleaning and organizing tack rooms or feed areas
Adjusting shelter setups in response to weather changes
Emergency Vet Call(s)
Redistribution and deployment of round bale(s)
Risk Factors & Safety Considerations
Working with large animals like cattle, horses, goats, and pigs introduces a variety of risks that factor into pricing:
Handling unpredictable behavior, especially in breeding or stressed animals
Navigating muddy or icy terrain in fields and pastures
Potential for injury while handling hooves, horns, or heavy gates
Biosecurity measures to prevent cross-contamination between properties
Each service and rate is thoughtfully structured to reflect the time, care, labor intensity, and risk level involved. Your animals and property are treated with the same care and diligence I give my own—because that’s what they deserve, if not more pampering and extra treats!
